Voter's Guide: Wantagh and Seaford School Budget, Board Elections

What you need to know for Tuesday's budget vote and school board election.

School district across the region will be voting on school budgets and elect new board of education trustees on Tuesday. Here is what Wantagh and Seaford residents will vote on Tuesday.

Wantagh School District

Wantagh residents will vote on the district's $75,481,754 budget for the 2014-15 school year Tuesday.

The proposal calls for a 1.76 percent budget-to-budget increase from last year and a 1.99 percent tax levy increase.

The proposed budget maintains all AP and college-level courses, security guards, class sized consistent with established district guidelines, the Horizons program, all art, music, and athletic programs, and extracurriculars. Get the full rundown in the district's budget pamphlet here.

Incumbent Michael Cucci and Ann-Marie Sturniolo are running unopposed for seats on the Board of Education.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Forest Lake, Mandalay, and Wantagh elementary schools.

Seaford School District

Seaford residents will vote on the district's $62,637,930 budget for 2014-15.

The proposal calls for a 3.64 percent budget-to-budget increase from last year and a 1.55 percent tax levy increase. Learn more on the Seaford district website here.

Incumbent Brian Fagan, Patrick Martz, and Stacie Stark are vying for seats on the Board of Education.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Seaford Manor Elementary and Seaford Harbor Elementary.
