Meet Wantagh's Homecoming Court

High drama Saturday as Wantagh High School king and queen crowned at halftime.

Emotion erupted from the seniors as one reveal after another peeled away the layers until just two of them were left standing.

Halftime of Saturday's Homecoming football game at Wantagh High School saw a king and queen crowned and the drama was palpable. In the end, it was Alyson Hopkins who climbed the highest step of the wooden podium for all to cheer. She was named queen.

Anthony Falco earned the crown of Homecoming king. He beat out runner-up Gerard Roche, the starting quarterback for the Warriors and on-the-field hero in a 21-7 win over New Hyde Park.

Hailey Orgass was first runner-up for queen, beating out Stefani Testa. Joseph Smith was second runner-up for king.

The day began with the court riding a motorcade down Wantagh Avenue as part of the Wantagh High School Homecoming Parade.
