Wantagh HS Drama Club Students Hands Out Food To Sandy Victims

Local high school students use food collected from October drive to help those impacted by storm.

The Wantagh High School Drama Club holds an annual food drive each October and this year's charitable effort took on a whole new meaning following the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy.

Heather Romano, who runs the Wantagh High School Theater Department, said after collecting food in October it was decided that the best way to distribute would be by providing to those in the community impacted by Superstorm Sandy. Wantagh students involved in the drama club were at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford Friday afternoon passing out non-perishable food.

The annual food drive is just one way Wantagh's Drama Club gives back to the community. Last December, students in the club spread holiday cheer during a visit to Cold Spring Hills Nursing Home.
