Wantagh HS Senior Earns Art Award

Sean O'Brien named a scholarship recipient at the Nassau All County Art Exhibit.

Wantagh High School senior Sean O’Brien was named a scholarship recipient at the Nassau All County Art Exhibit held at Adelphi University last month.

This prestigious annual exhibit by the Art Supervisors Association honors kindergarten through 12th grade students who have demonstrated excellence in a wide variety of two-dimensional visual art forms, including drawing, painting, printmaking, computer graphics, and photography. O’Brien’s piece was a graphic black and white self-portrait. He explained that he was trying to achieve drama with his expression and the use of his medium.

"Sean O'Brien is among Wantagh High School's most accomplished, multitalented and industrious visual arts students,” said his art teacher Sue McPartlan. “The entire Art Department faculty is so proud of his achievement!"
