Wantagh Meet the Candidates Forum Slated for Monday

Seven school board candidates to answer questions from public at event moderated by the League of Women Voters.

The seven Wantagh school board candidates will get a chance to voice their platforms in a public forum this Monday evening.

The Wantagh PTA Council is hosting a Meet the Candidates event on Monday in the Wantagh High School Cafeteria from 7- 9 p.m. The first hour will be a meet and greet with a question and answer session then beginning around 8 p.m. to be moderated by the League of Women Voters.

The seven Wantagh school board candidates vying for two seats include incumbent Trustee William Russack; Wantagh SEPTA Co-President Kera McLoughlin; Wantagh Foundation for Education Excellence Executive Director Ralph Spagnolo, 2012 Wantagh High School graduate Peter Mountanos; retired New York City Police Department detective Michael Costello; Certified Public Accountant David Hoffman and Donald Lang, director of athletics for the North Shore School District. Incumbent Trustee Jean Quinn decided not to seek reelection.

Voting for the school board election is scheduled on May 21 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Wantagh Elementary School, Forest Lake Elementary School and Mandalay Elementary School.
