Wantagh MS Back-to-School Night Moved to Sept. 13

Date of celebration ringing in the new school year moved since it fell on 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The Back-to-School Night originally scheduled for Sept. 11 has been moved to Sept. 13.

District officials decided to move the celebration ringing in the new school year for students as a result of the scheduled date falling on the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The start time for the Sept. 13 Back-to-School Night will remain at 7 p.m.

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east of…Read More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
