Wantagh MS Teacher Nominated for KJOY's Teacher of the Month

Billy Jackson among six Long Island teachers name finalists in the radio station's monthly contest.

A Wantagh teacher has been named a finalist in a "Teacher of the Month" contest organized by a Long Island radio station. 

Billy Jackson, a sixth grade teacher at Wantagh Middle School, is one of six Long Island teachers who were named finalists in the contest run by KJOY 98.3. The other five teachers are from Bellmore, Massapequa, Syosset, Dix Hills and West Babylon.

The "Teacher of the Month" winner for October will receives a $500 mall shopping spree. To vote for Jackson, click here

$20 million of the $40 million will be spent on adding a pocket track, presumably east ofRead More Massapequa. Currently, trains are reversed east of the Wantagh interlocking, and while the engineer walks through the train, it blocks the track. This addition of a "pocket track" will probably also help Wantagh commuters some times, just as an emergency pull-over space on the LIE helps.
