Wantagh Native Receives Prestigious Hofstra Scholarship

Eric H. Hertzman honored for graduating college with a 4.0 GPA.

Wantagh resident Eric H. Hertzman is one of five May 2010 Hofstra University graduates to be named a recipient of the school's Albert I. Da Silva Memorial Endowed Scholarship.

Hertzman was presented a plaque for the scholarship on Sept. 29 from Hofstra President Stuart Rabinowitz, and Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Herman A. Berliner. He achieved this honor for graduating with a 4.0 grade point average.

The scholarship is named after the late Mr. Da Silva, who was a noted entertainment lawyer. His wife, Zenia Da Silva, is a professor of Romance Languages and Literature at Hofstra. She has been on the Hofstra faculty for 50 years and is the first professor in the university's history to have reached that milestone.
