Wantagh School Board Appoints New Business Chief

Adriana Silver from Locust Valley School District tapped to replace departed Assistant Superintendent for Business Dana DiCapua.

The Wantagh Board of Education has tapped a new business chief following the departure of Dana DiCapua to the Garden City School District in late May.

Adriana Silver has been appointed to replace DiCapua as Wantagh’s assistant superintendent for business after serving in the same role in the Locust Valley Central School District since 2006. Her position in Wantagh takes effect on July 26.

Silver’s appointment was approved by the school board during a special meeting held June 25. At the July 2 school board reorganization meeting, Superintendent Maureen Goldberg welcomed Silver to the district.

Silver has served the Locust Valley School District since 1995 and prior to that worked in the Great Neck School District. She holds a Bachelor of Science in public policy with a second major in consumer economics from Cornell University and a School Business Administrator Professional Certificate and a Master of Science in School Administration and Supervision from LIU Post. In addition, Silver has a School District Administrator Professional Certificate issued by the New York State Education Department.
