Wantagh School Board Schedules Town Hall Meeting

March 24 community gathering will discuss next year's proposed budget.

The Wantagh Board of Education has scheduled a special town hall meeting for this coming Thursday to discuss next year's proposed budget.

Wantagh Superintendent Dr. Lydia Begley said the meeting at will be an “informal gathering” for district residents to meet with members of the Board of Education and central administrators to provide input on how next year’s budget should be structured.

“This has been a most challenging budget season for almost all school districts in Nassau and Suffolk Counties as well as in the entire state and our board felt that a meeting such as this would give parents and other residents a chance to voice their opinion on proposed budget increases and potential budget cuts,” said Dr. Begley.
