Wantagh Sports Booster Club to Hold Fundraiser

Johnny Malone's in Wantagh to host benefit for Wantagh student athletes on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Wantagh Sports Booster Club  (WSBC) will be holding its first annual spring fundraiser this Saturday at in Wantagh starting at 7 p.m.

The fundraiser will raise money toward the athletic programs in the Wantagh School District and include tap beer, wine, soda and a buffet. There will also be music from the band “The Roxbburys and raffles. 

The WSBC has a mission of providing financial and organizational support for student athletes and their coaches at and . Some of the annual events that the WSBC funds include night football and soccer games, the annual Homecoming Parade, the high school's Wall of Fame, a winter boys and girls basketball tournament and the Varsity Athletic Dinner where last year 16 scholarships were presented. WSBC co-president Maureen Reicherter emphasized that 100 percent of the group's profits go directly toward Wantagh student athletes.

Reicherter said she is very grateful to Johnny Malone's for agreeing to host Saturday's fundraiser. “The WSBC wishes to express its gratitude toward Johnny Malone's for its financial generosity for this event and for its continuous support of the athletes of Wantagh,” said Reicherter. “We hope that members of the community will frequent Johnny Malone's and thank them for being such a good neighbor.”
