Four teammates on the Club Ace Long Island (CALI) girls volleyball team were on opposite end of the net when Wantagh and Long Beach squared off Thursday in a key Nassau County Conference A matchup.
Wantagh’s Carly Simeone and Anna Paulik greeted Katherine Myers and Jackie Zeppa of Long Beach prior to the start of Thursday’s match, which was won by the Lady Marines in three sets. The four players, who are all co-captains of their respective high school squads, were teammates last summer on CALI, which is based out of Hofstra University.
Wantagh (4-1) and Long Beach (4-1) are next scheduled to meet on Oct. 22 at Wantagh High School.
