The softball team won a 1-0 pitchers duel in Saturday's first round playoff game at North Shore.
Pitcher Taylor Corwin tossed an eight-hit shutout with six strikeouts. She also contributed to the Wantagh offense scoring the game's only run on a sacrifice fly Kellie Mignoli in the top of the sixth.
The win moved Wantagh (12-4) to the Nassau County Class A quarterfinals at top-seeded Island Trees Monday at 4:30 p.m.
