Seaford Native Earns All-Region Cross Country Honors at RPI

Christine Koch recognized by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association after stellar senior senior for Engineers.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) cross county runner Christine Koch, a Seaford native, has earned All-Region honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Koch, a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead, garnered All-Region accolades after placing 34th of 256 competitors at the Atlantic Regionals with a time of 23:02.2. Her efforts helped RPI finish 11th of 36 squads at the meet.

Koch had a stellar senior season racing for the Engineers. Among her top finishes came at the Liberty League Championships where she placed eighth overall with a time of 23:14 to garner All-League First Team honors. She also placed ninth at the State Championships with a time of 19:35, earning her All-State Second Team.

Koch, an architecture major at RPI, was a three-time All-League honoree while running for Sacred Heart and led her team to the 2005 CHSAA Intersectional Championship.
