Seaford Teen Again Picked for USA Football Team

For second straight year, Russell Kohler selected to compete in international competition against top youth football players from around the globe.

A 15-year old football player from Seaford will once again get an opportunity to represent his country in the sport he loves.

Russ Kohler of Seaford was selected to play for the United States Under-16 football team when it competes at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth during the 2013 International Development Games this July. Last year, Kohler competed with the U.S. Under-15 football team at International Development Week in Austin, Texas.

Kohler, who played at Seaford Middle School and now is a freshman at St. Anthony’s in South Huntington, will join a select group of athletes in representing the USA and participating in one of football's true international competitions. The 2013 Under-16 National Development Team program will consist of 100 ninth-grade athletes from throughout the U.S.
