SUNY Old Westbury Hires Wantagh Native as New Men's Golf Head Coach

MacArthur High School graduate Chris Bellinger to lead local Division III program.

The SUNY College at Old Westbury announced the hiring this week of Wantagh native Chris Bellinger as the school’s new men’s golf coach.

Bellinger, a graduate of Levittown’s MacArthur High School, arrives at Old Westbury, a Division III program, after working as a teaching professional at local golf courses where. He started out as Assistant Professional at Cherry Valley Country Club in Garden City for almost four years before taking over as the First Assistant Professional at Island Hills Golf Club from 1997-2002. In 2003-04, Bellinger worked for Golf Stop from 2003-04, holding the position of Shop Manager and Teaching Professional.

Bellinger, who resides in West Babylon, is currently in his seventh year working for Titleist Golf as a customer fitter for Long Island.  The Wantagh native earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Farmingdale States in 1982. He has worked for the United Parcel Service since 1987 in Operations for the Air Department and is also the Co-Chairman of Health and Safety committee.
