Wantagh Gymnastics Falls to Sewanhaka

Lady Warriors drop three of four events in home meet.

The girls gymnastics team fell to Sewanhaka District on Thursday in a home Conference I meet.

Sewanhaka took three out of the four events in the competition held at . Wantagh  fell to Sewanhaka by a final score of 140.5 to 135.7.

Performing well in the loss was Wantagh’s Lauren O’Mara, who won the balance beam competition.  As a team, Wantagh was also awarded the floor exercise with a score of 40.1.

The loss to Sewenhaka keeps Wantagh (0-6) winless with three meets remaining in the season. The Lady Warriors are next in action at Hewlett on Wednesday in a meet scheduled for 7 p.m. at Woodmere Middle School. Wantagh will then return home for its final two meets on Jan. 21 against Carle Place and Feb. 1 versus Hicksville.
