Wantagh, Seaford Football A Win Away from Championship Game

Seaford looks to storm past West Hempstead Thursday night, while Wantagh looks to dethrone Garden City Friday.

The Nassau County high school football playoffs are still in full swing with four teams left alive in each of the four county divisions. 

One thing is for sure, by the end of this weekend two teams will be heading off to the county championship game held every year at Hofstra University. 

Check out the breakdown of all the division action and get ready to break out the blankets and cheer on your team!

Conference I

No. 1 seeded Farmingdale will be in action Saturday at 5 p.m. against No. 4 seeded Syosset, while No. 3 seeded Massapequa challenges No. 2 seeded Oceanside at 8:30 p.m.

Last week, Farmingdale slammed Valley Stream Central 56-7, while Syosset edged Freeport 17-14. Massapequa stomped past East Meadow 56-21, while Oceanside cruised past Baldwin 35-21.

Conference II

No. 1 seeded Carey takes on No. 5 seeded MacArthur Friday at 4 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., No. 2 seeded Garden City faces No. 3 seeded Wantagh.

Last week, Carey stormed past South Side 50-7. MacArthur won a seesaw affair with Long Beach 28-21. Garden City edged Mepham 33-30, while Wantagh barely beat Elmont 24-21.

Conference III

At 10 a.m. Saturday, No. 2 seeded Lawrence takes on No. 5 seeded Glen Cove, while, at 1:30 p.m., No. 1 seeded Plainedge takes on No. 6 seeded Floral Park.

Last week, Lawrence clobbered Sewanhaka 42-12. Glen Cove convincingly beat Bethpage 28-7. Plainedge romped against Hewlett 49-14 and Floral Park topped Lynbrook 21-17.

Conference IV

At 4 p.m. Thursday, No. 1 seeded Roosevelt faces No. 5 seeded Valley Stream North, while No. 2 seeded Seaford faces No. 3 seeded West Hempstead at 7:30 p.m.

Last week, Roosevelt shut out North Shore 46-0, while Valley Stream North stormed past Locust Valley 41-27. Seaford powered past Clarke 45-14, while West Hempstead silenced Mineola 34-6.
