Despite being down five entering the fourth quarter, Wantagh High School's football team shut out Elmont 8-0 in the fourth period to ensure a 24-21 win.
Peter Brasile rushed for 99 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Warriors, and the defense came up big.
Ralph Sommer and Vinny Vasheo recorded fourth quarter interceptions to sway the momentum towards Wantagh.
Up next for Wantagh is yet another showdown with rival Garden City Friday at 4 p.m. at Hofstra University. If the team wins Friday, they will reconvene one week later at Hofstra at 7 p.m. for a shot at the Nassau County Championship.
