Wantagh's Sileo Breaks NCAA Women's Lacrosse Points Mark

Former Wantagh High School standout sets new NCAA Division II record for points in a career with LIU Post.

A Wantagh High School graduate is now atop the NCAA Division II women’s lacrosse record books.

LIU Post junior attacker Jackie Sileo set a new NCAA Division II record for points in a career with 391 in a 17-5 victory against 12th-ranked Bentley this past Sunday. The 2010 Wantagh graduate tallied 11 points on six goals and five assists with her final tally breaking West Chester's Stephanie Kienle's previous career mark of 390, set in 2008.

Sileo leads LIU Post with 144 points (45 goals, 104 assists) and has helped lead the Pioneers to a 16-0 season and number-one ranking. Last season as a sophomore, the Wantagh product registered 141 points including the most assists in Division II with 96 while leading LIU Post to a Division II national title.

Sileo entered LIU Post in nearby Brookville after a stellar career at Wantagh High School in which she earned all-conference and all-county honors as well as All-America honorable mention. She led Nassau County in assists as a senior in 2010.

Sileo and LI Post close their regular season schedule on Thursday at University of Bridgeport before beginning their playoff push for a second straight national championship.
