Animal Shelter to Host Love Woofstock and Newpurrt Festival

Residents will enjoy the benefit of free adoptions, spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, microchipping and, for cats, testing for feline AIDS/leukemia.

The Hempstead Town Animal Shelter will be waiving all pet adoption fees during its free Love Woofstock and Newpurrt Festival on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the shelter.

The Town is inviting all residents to come enjoy the festivities in their tie-dyed clothes and love beads. Shelter dogs will be performing tricks, agility trials, swimming and demonstrating noseworks (dogs use their sense of smell to locate and identify certain objects). The Animal Shelter is proud to welcome Walking the Line and a surprise guest for this event. In addition, there will be raffles and baked goods for sale.

Inside the shelter, residents will enjoy the benefit of free adoptions, spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations, microchipping and, for cats, testing for feline AIDS/leukemia.
