Music for Hope Fundraiser at Mulcahy's

Benefit in Wantagh will raise funds for neuroblastoma cancer research and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Painting for Cure, a foundation that supports neuroblastoma cancer research and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, is holding a fundraiser Saturday at Mulcahy’s in Wantagh.

The “Music for Hope” benefit is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. at Mulcahy’s, which is located across from the Wantagh Long Island Rail Road Station. Painting for Cure was founded by Eddie Blascovich, who was inspired by his daughter’s own struggle with neuroblastoma and her passion for painting.

Saturday’s fundraiser will feature family-oriented activities as well as a buffet, free soda and cash bar. The Beatles tribute band BRITISH-MANIA will perform and Dee Jay Music  will be on hand hosting a raffle. In keeping with the spirit of the charity, children who attend will have the chance to participate in a painting workshop.

Blascovich said he decided to hold the fundraiser at Mulcahy’s due to how he impressed he was on a visit there a few years ago.

“I went to a fundraiser there several years ago and the food was great and so were all the workers,” he said. “Stacy at Mulcahy's works very closely with non-profit foundations and helps in any way she can. She is unbelievable!”
