Welcome to the first full work week of 2014 for most of us. Schools will be open after vacations and weather cancelations and we have meetings and programs on tap.

Here's a look ahead:

Back to School: The Seaford School district returns to school with a new bus company.  The Wantagh school district was back in session for only a day last week before Friday's weather cancellation.

Board of Education: The Wantagh School Board holds a planning session Thursday at 8 p.m. at their administrative offices.

PTA: The Forest Lake PTA will have a meeting and New Year's celebration Tuesday at 7 p.m.

SNL: Jan Kasoff, who was an NBC  cameraman for 36 years, working on Saturday Night Live,  the Watergate hearings and the Olympics gives a lecture titled "Behind the Scenes at Saturday Night Live and NBC "at the Seaford Library.  It will be Monday at 7.p.m.

Taxes: The Wantagh Library hosts a program called "How to Pay Less Income Tax," Tuesday at 7 p.m.
