Library Meeting and Events This Week

A look at events this week in the Wantagh-Seaford area.

For many this is the last full week of work before the Christmas holiday. There are holiday concerts on tap. There's also a number of interesting library events.

Here's a look ahead:

Mammography Van: The Wantagh Public Library will host a breast cancer screening program Thursday. It's open to women 40 and over. Women covered by insurance will have their carrier billed and must bring their information card. Those not covered by insurance will not incur out of pocket costs. The program runs from 8:45 a.m. to noon. For more information contact the office of State Senator Charles J. Fushillo, Jr.  516-882-0630. 

Library Board: The Wantagh Library Board meets Monday at 7 p.m. in the community room.

Irish Christmas: This program at the Seaford Library tells of Irish traditions, stories, songs and poetry for the holiday season. It starts at 2 p.m. Monday.

Concerts: Wantagh Middle School will hold concerts on Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. There will be a Wantagh High School concert Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Seaford Middle School will hold holiday concerts Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. Seaford High School's holiday concert will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Board of Appeals: The Hempstead Board of Appeals meets Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Town Hall, 1 Washington Street Hempstead.
