Snow Forecast and Short Week Ahead

A look at this week's events in Wantagh-Seaford.

As we head back to work following the Martin Luther King holiday, we may have some messy weather coming. We also have some town news to tell you about.

Here's a look ahead:

Snow: The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday. The forecast calls for 6 to 10 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 35 mph.

Town Closings: In advance of the storm, the Town of Hempstead has announced that all parks programs will be canceled Tuesday at noon. Senior Enrichment transportation was also canceled.

Sanitation: Those scheduled to receive sanitation pickup on Monday will receive it Tuesday due to the holiday. Those who normally receive pickup on Tuesday will receive it Wednesday. Recycling collection will remain as scheduled.

Town Board: The Hempstead Town Board will meet  Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. 

Income Tax: THe Wantagh Public Library hosts a program on how to pay less income tax Friday at 2:30 p.m.
