That Newsmax article constantly says this is a way to circumvent the Constitution. But since theRead More Constitution grants states the right to award their EC votes any way they want, this is perfectly legal. A state could decide to award its EC votes based on a contest. Have the Democratic nominee and the Republican nominee guess how many jelly beans are in a jar. Closest one gets the EC votes for their party.

EXTEND!!!! It's pathetic that we as citizens allow the people who have never had to use socialRead More benefits decide whether we should be allowed to use what we all pay for every week of our labor out of our paychecks. Tell me one person on Capital Hill who has ever lost a job and had to use the Unemployment System until they found another? I bet its very small number. Yet we give them the decision making power to rule on our lives? Why? They receive full medical coverage, lifetime jobs for some, insane pensions that the working man/woman could only dream of, yet they do not work a full year like the rest of us? These are the people who we want representing our everyday issues? Not in my opinion. Time for this country to ORGANIZE!!! It's us against them it seems. Very sad day to be an american when you see our government coming off the rails and there is no answer in sight.

We had MAJOR gas shortages and lines in Long Island after Hurricane Sandy. Like him or not, Gov.Read More Christie initiated odd/even days in NJ and the shortage ended. A few days later King Andy copied Gov. Christie and our lines also went away. We need leadership, not wealthy copy cats who act like a king. I luv NY, but I don't luv King Andy. Chris January 31, 2014 at 08:53 am
The minimum wage was never meant to be a living wage to support a family on. It is for young adultsRead More to enter the part time work force to build a work ethic and gain experience. Using the liberal logic, why don't we raise the minimum wage to $50 an hour? Would that improve our crumbling economy?

While Crawford's is similar to my own initial reaction, I have since come to my senses about theRead More potential impact of this ruling. We should not want nor need the central government to regulate the Internet for us. But the primary realization is that E-commerce fuels the Internet, and if sellers cannot reach their markets efficiently and easily through the Internet, then they will not support those ISP's that restrict access, bandwidth, or speed. ..................................................................................................... On the other hand, we as a society and a culture have, in my opinion, become slaves to the Internet, and therefore, spending less time online may not be a bad thing for most of us. ....................................................................................................... In other words, don't worry about it!

Do lawmakers have anything better to do then contemplate the killing of animals. On Long Island theyRead More want to shoot deer to reduce the population, now they want to kill swans because they may be aggressive to humans among other things which may or may not be supported by research. I never heard of anyone killed or even injured by a swan. We have so many problems in this state and attention should be directed to that and leave these poor creatures alone.

Throwing a shovel full of tar into a hole is hardly a repair. And it makes the streets look shabby,Read More and makes the roads uneven. Not to mention it rarely lasts. There must be a better solution!
