This little boy is very clever to have figured out how to crawl inside the machine. He deservesRead More more attentive parents. I hope they are court ordered to parenting classes. For what it's worth, approximately 30 years ago, I saw a toddler swathed in diapers wander out the front door of his home. The door was wide open. He started walking down the street. I parked my car and gently held him in my arms, looking for a family member to appear. No such luck. The toddler was nonverbal and unafraid. So we walked to the police station across the street. The cops on duty immediately recognized him & thought it was funny. The toddler was a known wanderer and the cops assured me he had a loving family. REALLY? They took him back home and did not write an incident report. It disturbed me then and now that the parents and police were so nonchalant. Child neglect is amusing to some people. I am not one of them.

strange how we respond just as the terrorists desire us to. the media commemorates each incident asRead More if it were a new profit center to mine for every last click. whole populations now sit in fear of another 'something' about to happen, never again, fully safe like we were in the good old days of the cold war? once these bstrds hit us deep inside our own turf we have not become stronger, but rather 'hardened', emboldened in our delusions of ultimate superiority, no longer safe on our 'island of north america'. each of these events changes us all even imperceptably, forcing us to accept their motives, their ideals, their imam imposed concept of living. we act in unison, determined to show them we are not affected, yet that very demonstration reveals our inner need to respond, to re-affirm our own injury, each of those crowd-felt sympathies we all cling to, even if for the brief moment of our 'crowd'. be strong, and further, be alert, be conspicuous in manner in which you care for each other. shy not away from those who seek your death, but do not embrace them, as they fein no challenge to seek close to your demise.

With the new voting scam, if Jack ran for president and got zero popular votes in NY, but got mostRead More of the popular votes nationwide, Jack would get ALL of NY's electoral votes, without receiving a single vote in NY. What version of "one man one vote" is that? Bundy? The Federal government should know a dead-beat when it sees one, they're 17,500,000,000,000 in the hole and that's growing by 2,000,000,000 a day. The Feds should also pay Social Security the 2,500,000,000,000 they've robbed it of.

I hope that one day I will see intelligent discussion on one of these boards without so muchRead More name-calling, putting down Dems, Libs, Cons and Republicans and other similar carrying on. Some people are concerned about the small states not having their say because the majority voted for something else. What about how the majority voted? The electoral college gives a person in a low-population state more of a vote than someone in a larger population state. This is inherently unfair and undemocratic and could only be made fair if states were broken up into similar sizes with respect to population; or if the the electoral college was eliminated or by the methods promoted by this NPV group, of which I never heard before today. Nobody can convince me that somebody from, say, South Dakota should have their vote count more than mine for any reason. Nor would I ever expect mine to count more than theirs. If we believe in true democracy and letting everybody make a choice, then we must accept that there will be sheep among us who can be led by free phones, or whatever. It takes all sorts. Just because something has existed for 200+ years doesn't mean that it's perfect or even good enough. We have come a long way since then, and if something can be done better, then it should. The entire method of counting votes needs to be replaced. Our overly simplistic method of "the person with the most votes wins" was fine when every vote was counted by hand, but it effectively limits the number of candidates to two and favors the two-party system that we have today. Add any more candidates and it gets screwed up. What we need is a system where each voter can rank the candidates in order of preference. That will allow the person with the most appeal overall to be elected. It will also break the stranglehold that the current two main parties hold. I, for one, would like some more choices, and the ability to vote without it being, in effect, a spoiled vote. Time to try something different. It's not rocket science, it's just counting properly. We can do it quickly and efficiently, something the Founders could not do, so we should.
Sean Hassett April 17, 2014 at 01:55 am
I have some serious issues with both the Republicans and the Democrats; both sides have issues theyRead More should answer for, but some of them actually have some good ideas and might really accomplish something if they could just work together. Instead, they will only see things their way and not compromise, and the result is that not much is getting done in DC. I am sick of seeing one party or the other introducing a bill that has no hope of passing, and this is not unusual. If this happened in some private sector company, there would be questions after one incident and firings after any more; yet it's business as usual in DC. That's why I see the need for reform. We need more than just these two parties and a preferential voting system to get us there. They need some competition to help them get their act together, or to allow us to elect someone who does have their act together.

This war on MJ began with Nixon and then Regan escalated it when he declared a War on Drugs. A warRead More we have been loosing and will continue to loose with the tactics our corrupt Government continues to use. Such as the one for Heroin. Since they can't beat it they decide to join it by becoming the LEGAL dealers. SO it is illegal to use heroin and you must stop taking that drug and switch over to the Government approved drug of Methadone. Ever see or hear of anyone getting off Methadone once they start. Well only if they are paying for it out of pocket and then can't afford it. Then the clinic does what they call an Administrative wean!!! Because after all if the dealer isn't getting paid you are not getting the drug!!! Now isn't that the way it is with any street dealer??? SO that is how the Government is handing the Heroin crisis in this country!!! Way to go pharmaceutical companies (Cooperate drug kingpins)_ SO now the question comes about medical Marijuana and the Federal Government does not want this because the big cooperate pharmaceutical companies have not devised a way in which they can have total control over this substance and financially rape every living soul in this county that would want it or need it. And so until this happens the Federal Governement will continue to fight against Marijuana being removed from the Class 1 drug list. Oh BTW just a little side note to all of you who continue t believe that you are living in the United States of America. You are not, we have become the Incorporated states of America. No longer a country where our government is one run by the people, of the people, or for the people!!!

Here's the story I posted this morning and was censored by PATCH Pistol Turned to ‘SubmachineRead More Gun’ By Clueless Media April 15, 2014 | Filed under Constitutional Issues, corruption,Culture,Culture Of Corruption,Democrats,Dumb Criminals,Gun control,Liberals,Media | Posted by Warner Todd Huston Once again we get proof of how mindless and clueless the media is, how they don’t fact check, but just mindlessly pass on each other’s bad work ad infinitum. This time it happened with a story about a criminal who used a .22 caliber pistol in a crime but one clueless reporter turned it into a “submachine gun” and hundreds of his mindless colleagues followed suit passing the lie on and on and on. Clueless reporter Darryl Holliday of DNAinfo Chicago, a website that caters to local news, reported on an incident that was perpetrated by a man from West Garfield Park who began wielding a .22 caliber pistol in a grocery store because he didn’t want to pay the 22 cents tax on a bottle of pop he was trying to buy. Holliday “reported” that the crook “pulled an Intratec submachine gun out of a Gucci satchel,” and in the next paragraph again claimed the piece was a “submachine gun” saying, “Officers arrived on the scene shortly after to find Shelton’s Gucci bag open on the counter as well as 15 bullets in the blue steel .22-caliber submachine gun–eight live rounds in one magazine, five in another and one in the chamber, according to court documents.” Of course, it is clear that reporter Holliday doesn’t have any idea what he’s rambling on about. The .22 caliber Intratec pistol is not a “submachine gun. It is a semi-automatic pistol like every other semi-auto pistol. A submachine gun is an automatic rifle that uses pistol cartridges instead of larger ones such as rifle or armor piercing cartridges. A one-hand-held version of this weapon is called a “machine pistol,” but it is also fully automatic. The Intratec pistol used in this crime is not a fully automatic weapon, however. It is semi-auto-meaning it fires only once when the trigger is pulled. It does not expel a stream of bullets like a fully automatic weapon does. Yet, as soon as this story went live on April 13, dozens of other so-called news outlets took up the claim that this dolt used a “submachine gun” in his crime. All one need do is put “Nahshon Shelton submachine gun” in any search engine and dozens of so-called news stories will be revealed saying that the criminal used a “submachine gun.” It all just shows that whenever you see a report on guns in the Old Media establishment, you should not trust it. They don’t even know the proper definitions of firearms terms and from there all their “facts” are suspect.

And Christmas has nothing to do with an imaginary man flying around in a sleigh pulled by magicalRead More reindeer… or elves… or trees, and entire houses for that matter, festooned with lights… or candy canes… or egg nog… or mistletoe… Holidays such as Christmas and Easter have become hybrid celebrations, ones that blend faith-based rituals with pagan customs and, of course, especially in America, mass consumerism.-------------- Offensive is a strong word, but I do agree with your sentiment, and that reminds me of the words of Holden Caulfield-------------------"They had this Christmas thing they have at Radio City every year. All these angels start coming out of the boxes and everywhere, guys carrying crucifixes and stuff all over the place, and the whole bunch of them--thousands of them--singing "Come All Ye Faithful!" like mad. Big deal. It's supposed to be religious as hell, I know, and very pretty and all, but I can't see anything religious or pretty, for God's sake, about a bunch of actors carrying crucifixes all over the stage. When they were all finished and started going out the boxes again, you could tell they could hardly wait to get a cigarette or something. I saw it with old Sally Hayes the year before, and she kept saying how beautiful it was, the costumes and all. I said old Jesus probably would've puked if He could see it--all those fancy costumes and all."

Christopher Wendt April 16, 2014 at 01:22 pm
@ Dear Patch Team. Do you have any holiday-themed cocktails for Eid al-Fitr? That is theRead More celebration of the Muslim faith at the end of the Ramadan fast. Probably not, because the Muslim religion does not condone the consumption of alcohol, and even the discussion of drinking alcohol is not permitted. Of course, that religion does recognize the frailty of the human condition, and does not allow believers to attend worship intoxicated. Now, I am not a prude or a tea-totaller, having consumed my share of alcohol and not always in moderation, either. But my point with this comment is that I suspect Patch and the Patch Team would show significantly more deference and respect for Muslim traditions than they had exhibited for the highest Christian holy day, Easter, which celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
