Blue Angels Return to Jones Beach
Famed Navy flying team to perform Memorial Day Weekend.
After a one-year absence the Navy Blue Angels team is retuning to Jones Beach in 2014.
The famed flying aerobatic team will appear at the Jones Beach Air Show on Saturday and Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, according to a schedule announced this week.
“Our performances provide a unique opportunity to inspire millions to connect with and support our service members, and we are looking forward to an exciting 2014 season,” said Blue Angels Commanding Officer Thomas Frosch.
In 2013 the Blue Angels canceled all of their performances due to budget issues. They're scheduled to perform 65 shows at 34 locations in 2014.
The squadron attended the 2012 air show at jones Beach.
