Letter to the Editor: New Group Available to Assist Sandy Victims

Local resident explains what volunteer organization called Friends of Wantagh-Seaford can offer to those still displaced by late October superstorm.

To the editor:

There’s a new organization in town and it needs your help. The organization, “Friends of Wantagh-Seaford” was formed to help the community rebuild after Superstorm Sandy. The organization is similar to other Friends groups on Long Island and is part of the Friends of Long Island network. Its goal is to help people get back into their homes and rebuild our communities.

In conjunction with the Wantagh-Seaford Homeowners Association, the Friends of Wantagh-Seaford hopes to assist those in need. The Friends currently offer a “Rip-Out” service at no cost for its labor. In addition we can help coordinate with other relief agencies.  In the future it hopes to provide monetary relief too.
