Loraine Auld was cleaning her boat when she slipped and fell.

A Seaford woman died Saturday after she fell into the canal behind her Seaford home.

According to police, at around 8:30 a.m., Loraine Auld, 86, was cleaning her boat that was docked in the rear of her residence when she slipped and fell into the canal.

Her 85-year-old husband found her wedged between the dock and the bulkhead and had a neighbor call 911. When emergency responders arrived, CPR was performed and she was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:24 a.m.

An autopsy determined that the cause of death was drowning and there is no apparent criminality.
